The Anita Sponge Cake

Oozy!

One of things I love about my family is their love for the homemade and simple.  Louie, from the age of two, never wanted a shop bought birthday party, everything, down to the burgers, were hand made at home.  Hard work for me at the beginning, but I have since got a routine down pat!  Oh yes, and every party had to be held at home :/

Baileys Chocolate cake

I know this has been a long awaited recipe, I apologise for my tardiness, I totally forgot to post  this!!
This rich chocolaty cake has quite a kick as I replaced the coffee with more Baileys!  It was a huge hit at 'The baby's 1st Birthday Brunch'.  Adults only of course!  We served it with cream whipped with more Baileys!

I can do it by myself; Encouraging independence

My kitchen is pretty small, but with a little creativity I was able to make a breakfast bar to make things easier for my children to independently make their own breakfasts.  This, I feel, is important for building confidence, encouraging independence and good eating habits.

Eating our lessons, Magic Sausage Spaghetti

Cooking with the boys is often fun for them with an educational element they aren't even aware of.  As a self confessed Pinterest junkie, I've found a few pins that I thought I'd adapt and try with the boys.

The magic sausage spaghetti was a great hit and, although I'm not really a fan of frankfurter sausages, they went down well at dinner time.

Baby's 1st Birthday Brunch

I had a great time planning and hosting the baby's 1st birthday brunch.  I had wanted it to be a calm sophisticated affair, decorated beautifully with great company and that is exactly what it was.

The look of the rooms you are using, to me, are just as important as the event itself.  All my events are planned carefully, I attempt to stimulate all my guests senses, from the look, sound, scent, taste and feel, when creating an event no matter how small if you are going to do it, you should do it right!
