Guest blogger Izzy: Norman Parkinson and Home made Crumble.

Norman Parkinson and Home made Crumble.
A first post by Guest Blogger, Isabelle Richter.

Yesterday I went to the National Theatre to see the current retrospective on Norman Parkinson acclaimed fashion British photographer of the post WWII.

His images evoke a sense of what it is to be a true woman of style and the grace of the 40s and 50s. Definitely recommend a visit to the exhibition which will transport you to an era of old world class.

Talking about old times I made a home made plum crumble today. Nothing like a bit of fifties inspiration to get the bakery skills working. So ode to all you mothers out there, Happy Mothers Day, this is dedicated to you. Stay beautiful. Stay graceful. And don't forget to bake your cakes and eat them too!

My Plum Crumble Recipe.
A bit of a rumble jumble as I went by feel. Pre-heat oven to gas mark 4.  Take 10 ripe plums roughly chop into small slices. sprinkle with lemon juice and brown sugar about 50g. Cook until soft about 20 mins. Whilst the plums are cooking make the crumble. About 250g oats mixed with Muesli. Rub well with 70g butter and 80g brown sugar. Until a crumbly texture. When plums are soft spread over top. Cook further twenty mins or until golden.serve with custard or ice cream.
Yum yum. Enjoy.
