Newbie bloggers, you are not alone.

As you may already know, I became a member of Britmums recently, within that umbrella are little groups blogger mums can join to help them with their interests.  I joined the newbie group and, although I'm outgoing in person, I was a little nervous about trying to make friends through the net.  Sounds backwards huh!
Most people can socialise better behind the screen where as I am a great actor and can put on a great persona until I'm comfortable; online, I feel as though I have nothing to say.  What shall I say?  "will you be my friend?!"  I am one of over 850 members in that group and  I've noticed a mere 15 regulars, the other 835 must be hanging around, watching the conversation and mustering up enough courage to 'jump in' like when you were playing double dutch.  Literally!

I've learnt a lesson today, an important one, as all lessons generally are.  I've learnt that blogging is a lot like being on radio.  I did that for 10 years, but that's another post!  You can be talking away and are  often left feeling as though your middle name should be Sybil but they are out there, your followers the silent army.  It starts with 4 and grows, steadily.  I finally hit the 500 bar in one day in my overview after 2 months of solid daily blog posts.  I remember how excited I was in February when I reached 150!

Just remember you quiet newbies, just as you're shyly and silently playing double dutch, so are your readers, they will jump in when they are ready.  Keep doing what you enjoy.

Now time to break into song,
"you are not alone, I am here with you, though we're far apart........"
Michael Jackson, You are not alone
